Salt Lake City Roofing, Held to the Royal Standard

Royal Dane Roofing is a small, owner-run residential roofing company. Jeremy has spent ten years on roofs along the Wasatch Front, and for the last three he has run his own crew. Shingle, metal, and flat roofs, gutters, and the storm repairs that come with Utah winters. Every job matters here, because there is no such thing as a small roof over someone’s family.

What Stands Behind a Royal Dane Roof

A roof is only as good as the materials on it and the person who put them there. Jeremy installs IKO shingles, keeps the company aligned with the James Hardie siding program, and carries the license and insurance Utah requires. The rest is a family name on the truck and a habit of doing the job right the first time.

Roof repair work on a shingle roof after storm damage in Salt Lake City, UT

Storm and Insurance

Wasatch weather earns its reputation. Hail off the benches, canyon wind that peels ridge caps, heavy spring snow. We document the damage properly, restore the roof, and walk you through the insurance claim so you are not learning that process alone.

Gutters

Gutters do the quiet work of keeping snowmelt away from your foundation. We repair and replace them, and we install Alu-Rex continuous hangers, a full-length aluminum rail that keeps gutters fastened straight through Utah freeze and thaw instead of relying on spikes every couple of feet.

Under Deck

The space under a raised deck can be a dry, finished outdoor room instead of a place rain drips through. We build under deck ceiling systems and the drainage that routes water out and away, so the patio furniture stays dry and the framing above stays sound.

Siding

The walls take four fifths of the weather, and Utah sun and canyon wind are hard on them. We hang James Hardie fiber cement and composite plank, repair wind-torn and cracked panels with matched material, and re-side whole houses, with the roofline flashing handled by the same crew.

Roofline

The soffit is where your attic breathes and the fascia is the board your gutters hang their weight on. We repair sagging panels and rotted board sections, and replace whole runs with vented, aluminum-wrapped systems that starve ice dams and never need paint.

Dear Salt Lake City homeowner,

Before I started this company, I ran someone else’s roofing business from top to bottom. I collected the checks, ordered the material, hired the crews, and let people go when I had to. The only thing I never touched was the bookkeeping. After enough years of doing all of it for somebody else, I decided that if I was going to carry that weight, it would be to provide for my own family.

That is the honest reason Royal Dane Roofing exists. It is not a franchise and it is not a call center with subcontractors. When you book an assessment, I am the one who shows up, gets on the roof, and tells you plainly what it needs and what it does not. Some roofs need replacing. Plenty just need a repair and a few more good years. You will get the truth either way.

We are not the biggest roofing company in the valley, and I do not want to be. Being small is the reason every job matters. Your roof is not one of forty this week. It is one of the few I have my own hands on, and my name and my dog are on the sign.

With gratitude,

JeremyOwner, Royal Dane Roofing

P.S. If you have hail or wind damage, do not wait on it. The sooner it is documented, the smoother the insurance side goes. Get in touch and I will take a look.

Questions Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers, no sales script. Anything else, call (801) 833-3205 and ask Jeremy directly.

01How much does a new roof cost in Salt Lake City?

It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, the material you choose, how many layers have to come off, and what the decking looks like underneath. A steep two-story with old wood shake under the shingles is a different job than a simple ranch. That is why we do a free assessment first: you get a firm written number for your actual roof, not a guess over the phone, and we will not pressure you once you have it.

02Repair or full replacement, and how do I know which I need?

If the damage is contained, the shingles are still in decent shape overall, and the decking is dry, a repair is usually the honest answer. If shingles are brittle, granules are filling your gutters, or leaks keep moving around, replacement stops the money bleed. Jeremy gets on the roof and shows you photos of what he finds, then tells you which one he would do on his own house.

03Will you work with my insurance company after a storm?

Yes. We document hail and wind damage with photos, meet the adjuster on site if needed, and make sure the scope of the claim actually covers what the roof needs. You handle your policy, we handle the roof, and nobody gets surprised at the end. Start with the insurance claims page if you want the full process.

04What shingles do you install?

Primarily IKO architectural shingles. They handle Utah sun and snow load well, the color lines suit valley neighborhoods, and we know exactly how they behave because we install them constantly. If you want metal instead, we do standing seam and ribbed panel roofs too.

05How long does a roof replacement take?

Most single-family homes are done in one to three days once material is on site. Tear-off day is the loud one. We protect landscaping and siding, run a magnet for nails before we leave, and haul every scrap of the old roof away. You should not be able to tell we were there except by looking up.

06Do you handle ice dams and winter roof problems?

All winter long. Ice dams come from heat escaping into the attic and melting snow that refreezes at the cold eave. We fix the cause with ventilation and insulation airflow, install heat cable where it earns its keep, and repair the water damage dams leave behind.
